Course Description IT Project gives business professionals –inside and outside of IT – the basic concepts to successfully manage small- to medium-sized projects. The course also covers a high-level introduction to Agile as part of one of the objectives. What you’ll learn Manage the project life cycle Ensure appropriate communication Manage resources and stakeholders Maintain project documentation Targeted Certification: CompTIA Project+ Prerequisites: Compass Verbal and Math evaluations or Navigator Logic evaluation Length: 90 class hours over 8 calendar weeks Course Materials Students will be provided with a copy of Project+ Cert Guide by Robin Abernathy with additional material posted using the online class portal on Moodle. Further, every student is provided with a Tech901 email account that will serve as the official form of email communication for the class. Make it a point to check this email address regularly during the course of this class. Career Services Training Scheduled class times will be reserved for Career Services Training. In this time, we’ll cover topics such as Resume Building, Professionalism, Interview Practice, and opportunities for Professional Networking. Grades and Attendance Students are expected to attend class each day and attendance will be taken. Tech901’s academic policy states that a student can be dismissed from the class after five (5) absences Course Completion Requirements Exam vouchers can be purchased (50% discount) through Tech901 and students who make a 75% or higher on the final exam will be sold a $50 voucher (75% discount) on his or her first attempt of both the CompTIA Project+ exams, with subsequent attempts costing the Tech901 student. Tutoring and Review All students are invited to come for extra help during non-class times. This can often be the best way to get the necessary help for mastering the content required for the certification exam.
