COURSE SUMMARY
Prerequisite: CompTIA Tech+
Code 1.0 at Tech901 introduces students to the fundamentals of computer programming through Python, one of the most widely used programming languages in technology today. Designed for individuals with little or no prior programming experience, this course helps students develop the logical thinking and problem-solving skills that serve as the foundation for software development, automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Through instructor-led lessons and hands-on programming exercises, students learn essential programming concepts including variables, data types, functions, loops, conditional statements, and data structures. Students gain practical experience writing, testing, and troubleshooting code while developing an understanding of how software applications are designed and built.
The course also explores foundational computer science concepts such as algorithms, computational thinking, software engineering principles, and program design. Through progressively challenging coding projects and real-world programming scenarios, students learn to think algorithmically while building confidence in their ability to create functional software solutions.
By the end of Code 1.0, students will be prepared to pursue the Python Institute Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP™) certification. The knowledge and programming skills gained through this course provide a strong foundation for continued study in data analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and software development while preparing students for advanced technology training opportunities at Tech901.
Already Have the Skills? Students who already possess the required knowledge may earn the PCEP certification independently and provide proof of certification for placement into the next course in the pathway.
