IT Networking is offered four days a week, Monday - Thursday, from 6 PM to 9 PM for 12 weeks. Course Description IT Networking prepares trainees with the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, configure, and manage enterprise wired and wireless networks. Organizations depend on highly available network connections to do business, and the CompTIA Network+ certification validates that you are ready to take on that challenge. The course begins with the fundamental components of networking, including data communication wiring, internal LAN connectivity, WAN technologies, and network security. This course also lays the groundwork for basic understanding of emerging technologies including unified communications, mobile, cloud, and virtualization technologies. Course Materials Tech901 provides the following physical textbook for this course: Pearson IT Certification’s CompTIA Network+ Cert Guide. The content for this course is provided by the Tech901 Moodle learning management system at https://moodle.tech901.org.Additional virtual lab and practice exam materials will be provided through TestOut’s virtual course platform. Career Services Training Scheduled class times will be reserved for Career Services Training. In this time we’ll cover topics such as Resume Building, Professionalism, Interview Practice, and opportunities for Professional Networking. Grades and Attendance Students are expected to attend class each day and attendance will be taken. Tech901’s academic policy states that a student can be dismissed from the class after five (5) absences. Certification Exams Exam vouchers can be purchased (50% discount) through Tech901 and students who make a 75% or higher on the final exam will be sold a $50 voucher (75% discount) on his or her first attempt of both the CompTIA A+ exams, with subsequent attempts costing the Tech901 student. Tutoring and Review All students are invited to come for extra help during non-class times. This can often be the best way to get the necessary help for mastering the content required for the certification exam.
