Service Description

Web Programming is offered two days a week, Tuesday & Thursday, from 6 PM to 9 PM for 14 weeks. Course Description and Materials The Web Programming course is a hands-on introduction to web application development with a specific emphasis on the JavaScript programming language. Today's websites demand function and interactivity. JavaScript programming is the bridge between the client-facing "look" and the business logic, servers and systems that are the data "engines" on the back-end. The HTML/CSS markup languages provide the basic appearance of web sites. Here we will focus on these as tools and provide interface knowledge between web HTML documents and the JavaScript logic components. The course is not intended to teach website artistic style and composition skills. JavaScript is the primary programming language you will learn. This class is a rigorous project-based instructional method but is designed to be approachable for those who have no experience. The course is the front-end complement to Tech901's Code 1.0 Computer Science and Coding class. After graduating from both of the Web Programming and Code 1.0 courses students will possess the essential entry-l Class Materials Students must provide personal laptop and will need access to the internet when viewing course lectures and use of coding tools available online. Lessons will involve a combination of lectures, outside assignments, projects, and lectures as well as in-class lab activities. Visits to/from partner companies may be included as a way to network and connect students with potential employers. Career Services Training Scheduled class times will be reserved for Career Services Training. In this time, we’ll cover topics such as Resume Building, Professionalism, Interview Practice, and opportunities for Professional Networking. Grades and Attendance Students are expected to pass 70% of the assigned coursework in order to receive a certificate from Tech901. Regular attendance is expected and required for graduation. Attendance will be recorded, and is critical for your timely success. Please notify your instructor if you are going to miss class. Tutoring and Review All students are invited to come for extra help during non-class times. This can often be the best way to get the necessary help for mastering the content required for the certification exam.
